The mummies, which remain surrounded in controversy, are continuing to yield intriguing discoveries.

Whatever you might think about the mummies – which rose to prominence after controversial UFO researcher Jaime Maussan presented two of them at a formal congress hearing in Mexico City back in 2023 – there is no denying the continued level of interest that seems to surround them.

Supposedly found buried between the Peruvian cities of Palpa and Nazca in 2017, the bodies reportedly contained ‘unknown’ DNA and were – as Maussan put it – “not from this Earth.”

His claims went on to generate a great deal of controversy and debate, with experts slamming his discovery on the basis that the ‘aliens’ were thought to be little more than human mummies.

Others, meanwhile, claimed that they might not even be real bodies at all.

Now, further investigation of one of the mummies has revealed the discovery of a fetus within its womb.

The find was made by Jois Mantilla – a firm proponent of the notion that the mummies are real – during an analysis of one particular specimen that has been named ‘Monserrat’.

“I observed the position of the hands, as if she had wanted to protect her gestating belly,” he told Mail Online. “One hand above and one below.”

“The abdomen dried out, lost hydration, and became almost flat, but the hands remained in that position.”

One of the oddest things about the mummies is their strange, three-fingered hands and anomalous internal organs which indicate – according to Mantilla – “extraterrestrial or reptilian ancestry.”

“For now, the only clear anatomical similarity between the fetus and the mother is the tridactyl structure of the hands and feet,” he added.

As things stand, it remains unclear whether the mummies are genuine human remains or not.

If they are, then this particular mummy would likely be that of a woman who died around 1,200 years ago while carrying a child.

Exactly what caused her death, however, remains unclear.
