It all started when a local resident noticed that her neighbor wasn’t properly caring for their dogs. The sight was difficult to watch—skinny, neglected pups, with no steady food or attention. She couldn’t turn a blind eye. So, she began leaving food out and showing them gentle kindness whenever they wandered over.

Soon after, a loving foster couple, Dawn and Brett, took in all seven puppies. With their help, the furbabies adjusted quickly and began to thrive—full of playfulness, affection, and boundless charm.

Eventually, Shultz’s Guest House, a rescue based in Dedham, Massachusetts, stepped in to help find forever homes. These mostly Great Pyrenees mixes were now 12 weeks old, fluffy, friendly, and stealing hearts left and right.

“They’re playful, cuddly, a little sassy, and full of charm,” the rescue shared on Instagram. “They love people, would do well with respectful kids, and are young enough to learn to live well with other animals.”

Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long before all seven were adopted into loving homes.

But One Part of the Story Isn’t Over

While the puppies are now safe and adored, their parents—especially the brave mama dog—are still with the original owner. Tragically, that person refuses to surrender them.

Local rescuers believe the parents have become semi-feral, and helping them may require a different approach. But they haven’t given up hope. The goal now is to convince the owner to let them go, so that this story can end with healing—for the entire family.
