Kansas City Chiefs President Mark Donovan recently took a moment to reflect on the franchise’s evolution—both on and off the field—over the past decade.
Speaking during training camp, Donovan emphasized the dramatic transformation the organization has undergone, from a team fighting for consistency to one now regarded as a model of success across the NFL.
Donovan noted that the team has shifted from “selling hope” to “sustaining greatness” over the years. “It’s been a journey built on culture, leadership, and a fan base that never wavered.”
Under the leadership of Head Coach Andy Reid and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs have become a perennial playoff contender and two-time Super Bowl champion. Donovan also credited the Hunt family’s long-term vision and the franchise’s deep investment in community outreach and innovation.
The growth is evident in fan engagement, community presence, and organizational improvements.
As the Chiefs enter the 2025 season, Donovan remains focused on building for the future while honoring the values that sparked the team’s rise.
“Sustaining success is harder than building it,” he added. “But we’re committed to setting a standard that lasts for generations.”
