Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has reportedly been sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years’ probation for his role in a multi-car crash in 2024.

According to an affidavit obtained by the Dallas Morning News, Rice was driving a Lamborghini Urus and reached 119 mph 4.5 seconds before the collision.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that a Dallas County judge sentenced Rice to the jail time that can be served during the five-year probation. Schefter also noted “now that the judge has ruled, the NFL can expedite its disciplinary process and Rice is likely to receive a multi-game suspension.”

Rice has also paid restitution to the victims. Rice has already paid about $115,000 in restitution for their out-of-pocket medical bills.

The expectation is also that he will serve the coming NFL suspension during the 2025 campaign.

For his team, the Chiefs believe that Rashee Rice will be handed a suspension that could be anywhere from two to four games.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been sentenced to 30 days of jail time and five years’ probation for his role in a multi-car crash in Dallas, Texas, in 2024.

The Dallas County judge who issued the sentence ruled Rice’s jail time can be served during his five-year probation period.

It is likely Rice will also receive a multi-game suspension from the NFL, per Schefter.

Rice released a statement about the crash through his attorney.

“Last March, I was involved in a high-speed accident in Dallas. There have been a lot of sleepless nights thinking about the damages that my actions caused, and I will continue working within my means to make sure that everyone impacted will be made whole. I urge everyone to mind the speed limit, drive safe, and drive smart,” he said.

“Last and certainly not least, I am profoundly sorry for the physical damages to person and property. I fully apologize for the harm I caused to innocent drivers and their families.”

West said Rice is apologetic for what happened.
