EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings are double dipping with the Vikings Classic and have a tailormade opportunity for their Winter Warrior look in 2025.

Minnesota will wear the Vikings Classic in its Week 2 home opener against the Atlanta Falcons on NBC’s Sunday Night Football and again in Week 18 when the Border Battle with the Packers wraps up the 2025 regular season (day and time to be determined).

The Vikings will utilize their Winter Warrior uniform, which debuted in 2024 with the first usage of a white helmet in team history, when they host the Lions in the Christmas Day game streamed by Netflix as part of Week 17.

Single game tickets are now available for the Vikings 2025 regular season.

Week 2 also will feature a halftime ceremony recognizing 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinee Jared Allen.

The Vikings Classic borrows design elements from some of the Vikings earliest uniforms. It features jerseys that are deeper Purple than the modern primary installation, as well as larger numbers with slab serif fonts and gold trim. Classic stripes are on the sleeves.

The look includes a vintage horn and gray facemasks on the helmets. The older version of the helmet horns is longer than the modern version.

White pants feature a vertical gold stripe flanked by purple stripes, a design worn by the Vikings through their first 45 seasons.

The Winter Warrior features white alternate jerseys and pants accented with metallic gray, including the face mask, and purple.

The introduction of Winter Warrior capped a design process that started more than two years earlier with initial concepts by Vikings Senior Art Manager Jackie Ramacher. The Vikings debuted the “Winter Whiteout” uniforms during the 2022 season as a sort of market survey on the ultimate goal of a head-to-toe white look.

The Winter Warrior design goals were to emulate a “modern Viking’ and embrace the frigid North. The uniforms feature a number of design elements inspired by ancient Viking culture and the Northern climate, including the cool-toned color palate and subtle variation on the standard jersey’s numbers.

Also unique is a completely new finish for the helmet, which was developed through close collaboration with the Vikings, the NFL and Riddell. A metallic stripe was added to the center of the helmet as a modern interpretation of the riveted metal strips used in early battle helmets.

Two additional details include the VIKINGS wordmark on the chest of the jersey written in SKOL font, a pivot from the original Vikings script that traditionally has been used, and the Nordic knot design embroidered on the back neckline.
