As training camp kicks off in St. Joseph, Missouri, the Kansas City Chiefs are buzzing with excitement — and a lot of that energy centers around the anticipated return of their dynamic, speedy wide receiver duo: Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown.

After dealing with injuries during offseason programs, both receivers are expected to be back at full strength, and their presence could reshape the Chiefs’ offense heading into the 2025 season. With Patrick Mahomes under center, the combination of blazing speed, route-running, and explosive playmaking from Worthy and Brown has the potential to stretch defenses and restore the deep-threat element that Kansas City once thrived on.
“It’s going to be scary for defenses,” said one Chiefs assistant coach. “The speed those two bring opens up everything underneath for Kelce, Rice, and the backs.”
Xavier Worthy, a rookie out of Texas, famously ran a record-breaking 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Despite minor hamstring tightness during OTAs, he’s now ready to showcase that elite burst in full pads. On the other side, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown brings veteran savvy and proven NFL experience, looking to rebound after a quieter 2024 season.
The Chiefs are hoping the pairing of a young burner and a seasoned speedster will add a much-needed vertical spark to an offense that, while efficient, lacked consistent explosiveness last year. With Rashee Rice’s status uncertain and Travis Kelce entering his 12th season, the return of this electric duo could be exactly what Kansas City needs to keep defenses honest — and Mahomes dangerous.
