son.Eagles star Saquon Barkley shares thoughts on fans booing him: ‘What you live for’ the club is to always give your all in every game.

Saquon Barkley didn’t expect boos to rain down from the packed New York Giants stands at MetLife Stadium when he returned to the field he once called home for the first time as a Philadelphia Eagles player.

But when he touched the ball, that was all he heard Sunday, although they were quieter as he outran the Giants defense for 176 yards — the most of his Eagles career to date — with a touchdown in a 28-3 victory for Philadelphia.

Barkley said he doesn’t see this as a revenge game as he faces the team he spent his first six seasons in the NFL with before signing with what was once his NFC East rival.

However, with a resounding success in his first game against the Giants, Fox Sports’ Kristina Pink asked Barkley how it felt to run all over New York on Sunday. Barkley took the high road.

“We won in the end,” he replied. “That’s the most important thing. Shout out to the big guys up front and at the end. They helped me get the lead.

“It’s great to go out there and win the tournament. That’s always important. Now we’re on to the next one.”

However, the atmosphere was something Barkley said he thrived on.

“I know I’m getting booed. But as a competitor, it’s something you live for,” he said, “the moments you dream about, and at the end of the day, we got the dub. I was able to see [old] teammates and friends there so at the end of the day it’s all about love.”

After the game, Barkley took a little extra time to get into his postgame interview as he hugged and talked to his former teammates, with whom he still keeps in touch despite now being rivals.

Despite the crowd’s reaction to his return to North Jersey, Barkley noted how his former teammates viewed the situation of him leaving the Giants for the Eagles.

“It was nice to see those guys out there,” he said. “You know, the media made it out to be more than what it was. I don’t have any hate in my heart. They don’t hate me there. It’s all love, it’s a business. I get it, they told me to go somewhere else and find somewhere else.”
