DQ. Where ESPN Ranks Travis Kelce Heading Into the 2025 NFL Season

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to defend their Super Bowl title, all eyes are once again on Travis Kelce — and ESPN hasn’t forgotten about him.

In its annual positional rankings, ESPN placed Kelce as the No. 2 tight end in the NFL heading into the 2025 season, trailing only San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle. Despite being 35 years old, Kelce continues to defy age, expectations, and defenders. He remains Patrick Mahomes’ most trusted target and a centerpiece of Andy Reid’s offensive system.

Although Kelce’s numbers dipped slightly last season — partially due to injuries and an evolving offensive scheme — he still posted over 900 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns, proving he’s far from slowing down. More importantly, his playoff performances were vintage Kelce: clutch, unguardable, and passionate.

Critics may argue that a new era of tight ends is emerging, but the Chiefs’ star is still rewriting the definition of greatness at the position. His leadership, route running, and football IQ continue to set him apart.

With his sights set on an eighth consecutive Pro Bowl and a potential fourth Super Bowl ring, don’t count out Travis Kelce just yet — especially when the lights shine brightest.
