After Mahomes threw an incomplete pass to turn the ball over, Mahomes returned to the sideline and appeared to give NFL officials a headache. He then slammed his helmet on the ground and had to be held back by trainers and teammates.

Chaotic scenes erupted a few plays later as a touchdown was erased from the scoreboard.

Mahomes threw a dart toward Travis Kelce, who was running up the field and saw Kadarius Toney following him. Kelce threw the ball back to Toney, who had an open lane in the end zone.

However, the touchdown was ruled offside because Toney was ruled offside. It appeared that Toney had lined up in the neutral zone when the game began. That was against the rules and a penalty was assessed to Toney.

The reversal seemed to suck the air out of Arrowhead Stadium as Kansas City had nothing else to do. Mahomes was sacked on the next play.
