According to Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes, a horrific traffic accident occurred on Interstate 35 in Fort Worth, Texas, USA early on February 11, local time (afternoon of the same day, Vietnam time). 133 cars of various types, including heavy trucks, were piled up on a nearly 2km stretch of road, after colliding due to a winter storm with icy road conditions.

At least 6 people were killed in the accident, 65 others were taken to local hospitals for treatment, of which 3 were in critical condition; not including many people with scratches who were treated at the scene, Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis said at a press conference after the accident.

The Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin areas of Texas are said to be in bad weather conditions, including snow and icy road conditions.

Four police officers were also injured, three of whom were on their way to work in the crash.

Many people were trapped in their vehicles, forcing rescuers to use specialized equipment to free them.

Matt Zavadsky, a spokesman for MedStar ambulance service, said 13 ambulances were on the scene with paramedics.

Also on the morning of Feb. 11, in Austin, about 180 miles south of Fort Worth, five people were taken to the hospital after a 26-vehicle pileup on Highway 45, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.
