Jaxon Buell, a baby known as “Jaxon Strong”, was born in 2014 with an extreme and rare condition called Microhydranencephaly when the skull and the brain are not formed well.

And despite the fact that their baby was born without most of his skull and brain, his parents Brandon and Brittany Buell never abandoned their son. They swore that they will do anything they can to make his life happy and joyful even though the doctors said that he would only survive a few days.

However, his parents decided to stay strong and never gave up on their child. And against all the odds, little Jaxon not only survived birth, but he was celebrating birthday after birthday. And he was doing fine for a child that was expected to never see, hear, talk, or walk.

But, the parents experienced difficult days as well… ”There are difficult days. There are days that are very challenging. There are days that break our hearts to watch him go through a very difficult day, but what has encouraged us is truly watching him respond back to us and it’s just truly amazing,” said Jaxon’s father Brandon in 2017.

And there were people who judged Jaxon’s parents saying they were irresponsible and cruel for letting the child live with such a serious illness.

“For our family, it’s also normal to feed our baby by feeding tube. It’s normal to embrace him as he goes through his startle seizures multiple times a day. It’s normal to look at Jaxon and see a perfectly created boy and other babies truly do look weird and oversized to us,” Brandon said.

They lived together in Orlando for a few years after Jaxon was born and afterward, Brandon and Brittany divorced and Brittany took Jaxon with her and moved out of the state.

Sadly, Jaxon’s illness took the best of him and he passed away “very peacefully and comfortably” on April 1 in North Carolina.

“He passed away in my arms and surrounded by his parents and family who were loving on him and providing comfort and endless hours of snuggles throughout his final days,” said his father.

“Ultimately, Jaxon passed away from his body and organs shutting down, as is common with children like him. This had absolutely nothing to do with the COVID-19 virus, but was something we always knew from the beginning would likely happen. We just didn’t know when.”

And his mother wrote a heart-melting letter on Facebook.

“Dear baby Jaxon,

I wasn’t ready but Jesus was ready for you in heaven. Selfishly my heart is broken because I want to cuddle you in my arms. However, I am happy you are now healthy, with no pain and enjoying your eternal life without a care in the world … IN FULL FORM! Forever my baby you will be. Please continue to watch over your sister big bro! We love and miss you more than words can express.

Love, Mommy”

May this little angel rest in peace.
