Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium on November 29, 2024.
At the start of training camp, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke highly of tight end Travis Kelce.
“He’s phenomenal,” Reid told reporters. “I mean, he’s been great for this organization. Anytime you’re with a guy for 13 years, you end up being close to that player. And so I’ve watched him grow as a player, as a man.”
At age 35, and entering the final year of his contract with the Chiefs, it’s not crazy to assume this will be Kelce’s last season in the NFL. But Reid isn’t jumping to any conclusions.
“You hope he plays forever, but that’s probably not gonna happen to any of us,” Reid said of Kelce possibly returning for another year. “So whenever he decides to hang it up, he’s built a great legacy here. And if he decides this is it, it’s it. If not, more power to him.”

During the offseason, he either slicked his long locks back during public appearances or tucked them under a hat. Arriving at training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, he let his long hair flow loose. However, ahead of the first practice with pads on Sunday, July 27, the 10-time Pro Bowler revealed an all-new look.
