With training camp underway at Missouri Western State College, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce missed the red carpet premiere of his new movie, “Happy Gilmore 2.”
However, the Chiefs organization made sure Kelce felt the love and hosted a watch party with his fellow teammates. With a sweet nod to three-time Super Bowl champion’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, the Chiefs posted a clip from the event on social media and wrote, “The guy on the Chiefs and The Waiter in Happy Gilmore 2. Thanks for the early showing! Watch now on @netflix .”
While performing the “Eras Tour” across the globe, Swift changed the lyrics in the song “Karma” whenever Kelce was in attendance. She changed the original lyric “screen” to “Chiefs” and sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”
The Chiefs received a round of applause for the gesture. One fan commented, “This is why this team continues to dominate….it’s family!” Another person wrote, “Love how supportive they all are of Trav! I so need us to win it all again this year so he can ride off into the sunset .”

One woman added, “Guy on the chiefs and guy on the screen, he can do it all folks.”
However, it wasn’t just fans and teammates applauding Kelce’s performance in the comedy film starring Adam Sandler in the titular role. The 10-time Pro Bowler’s older brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, also gave him a heartfelt shoutout on Sunday.
Making the Chiefs star’s cameo in “Happy Gilmore 2” even more special for Jason was seeing their father, Ed Kelce, appear in the movie as well.
The ESPN analyst shared a photo of Sandler standing between his little brother and dad on Instagram. He captioned the post, “This is one of my favorite photos ever taken! Just so surreal seeing these 3 together. Congrats to the sandman for bringing Happy back to life in glorious fashion, haven’t looked forward to movie this much in awhile.
“And congrats to my brother for nailing his role and being involved in the sequel to one of the pinnacles of our childhood. Happy Gilmore 2 is out now on Netflix, check it out, you won’t be disappointed. @killatrav I’ve never loved and hated a waiter so much!”
Travis commented, “ Let’s gooooo!!! Still surreal!!”

Save for the major announcement that Swift reclaimed her master recordings on May 30, the pop star has rarely posted on social media since the end of the “Eras Tour” in December. She gave one of her best friends, Selena Gomez,” a shout-out on her Instagram Stories following her new album release, but that’s it.
However, Swift broke her social media silence to hype up her man’s new movie.

She shared the movie poster on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must watch, 13/10. go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible .” The honey emoji is a hint at Kelce’s cameo in the film.
