Steelers Legends Ben Roethlisberger, Maurkice Pouncey, and Joey Porter Inducted into 2025 Hall of Honor

In a touching ceremony held at the Fred Rogers Center at Saint Vincent College, the Pittsburgh Steelers officially welcomed three franchise legends—quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, center Maurkice Pouncey, and outside linebacker Joey Porter—into the 2025 Hall of Honor Class.

This prestigious honor recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the Steelers organization, both on and off the field. For fans and players alike, this year’s inductees represent the heart and soul of an era that brought unforgettable memories and championship glory to the Steel City.

Ben Roethlisberger: The Face of a Generation

Ben Roethlisberger, affectionately known as “Big Ben,” spent his entire 18-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being drafted in the first round in 2004. With two Super Bowl championships (XL and XLIII), over 60,000 passing yards, and countless clutch performances, Roethlisberger is not just a Pittsburgh icon—he’s one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. More than stats, though, it was his resilience, leadership, and unwavering love for the game that endeared him to Steelers Nation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Roethlisberger said, “To be honored like this, alongside two teammates I went to battle with, means the world to me. We bled black and gold together.”

Maurkice Pouncey: The Anchor of the Offensive Line

Maurkice Pouncey was the backbone of Pittsburgh’s offensive line for over a decade. A nine-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro, Pouncey was known for his toughness, intelligence, and fierce loyalty to his quarterback and teammates. He and Roethlisberger had one of the closest bonds in the locker room, often seen embracing on the sidelines and leading by example.

Pouncey, visibly emotional during his speech, said, “This organization changed my life. I gave it everything I had, and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.”

Joey Porter: Passion and Power

Few players embodied the swagger and tenacity of Steelers football like Joey Porter. Known for his fiery personality and explosive play, Porter was a defensive force during his time in Pittsburgh, earning Pro Bowl honors and helping the team win Super Bowl XL. He later returned as a coach, mentoring the next generation of Steelers defenders.

“Pittsburgh is in my blood,” Porter declared. “This isn’t just a team—it’s family.”

A Legacy That Lives On

As the crowd of fans, family members, and former teammates rose to a standing ovation, it was clear that this induction was more than symbolic—it was a celebration of legacy, loyalty, and love for the game.

The 2025 Hall of Honor Class reminds us all what it means to wear the black and gold—and why the Pittsburgh Steelers remain one of the most storied franchises in all of sports.
