Second-year wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk has missed the first two days of Patriots training camp due to what the team is calling minor muscle tightness.
Polk reportedly passed his physical and isn’t expected to miss significant time. Still, he has yet to take the field, and the coaching staff is proceeding with caution. There’s optimism that he could return by the weekend if his condition improves.
In the meantime, his absence has created an opportunity for other receivers to shine — further intensifying what was already a competitive battle in a deep and crowded WR room.
Polk, considered one of the Patriots’ most promising young pass-catchers, will now face added pressure to reassert himself once he’s back on the field.
