Chiefs legend Jamaal Charles is confident that Kansas City will overcome their heartbreaking Super Bowl loss — and come back even more dangerous in 2025.
In a recent interview, Charles shared his belief that the team has the right mindset and leadership to recover. “They’ve been here before,” he said. “They know how to respond, and I think this season they’ll be better because of that pain.”
The former All-Pro running back also praised the team’s offseason changes on offense, pointing to the emergence of new weapons and the continued brilliance of Patrick Mahomes. One name he highlighted: Jake Briningstool, a young tight end turning heads at training camp. With Travis Kelce potentially in his final season, Briningstool’s rise could prove critical.

Charles added that Mahomes and Kelce are “wired differently” — they take losses personally and use them as fuel. That edge, combined with a retooled offensive line and rising stars at wide receiver, makes him optimistic about the road ahead.
“You can’t count this team out,” Charles said. “They’ve got the heart of champions.”
