After battling a serious health issue related to blood clots, Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore is back—and he’s better than ever.
Barmore has slimmed down from around 325 pounds to a leaner 300–305 pounds, saying he feels “lighter, faster, and more explosive.” According to the fourth-year lineman, this is the best shape he’s been in since entering the NFL.
The transformation didn’t happen overnight. Barmore credits the Patriots’ medical and performance staff for guiding him through his recovery and reshaping his conditioning program. The results are showing at training camp, where he’s moving with a quickness and burst that’s turning heads.
As New England looks to reestablish its defensive identity, a fully healthy and recharged Barmore could be a key piece up front. His resurgence is not just a personal milestone—it might be a turning point for the Patriots’ defensive line.
