Update: The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Jason Peters wants a pay raise to move from right guard to left tackle.

PHILADELPHIA — On paper, it’s a quick, easy fix. With left tackle Andre Dillard set to miss the 2020 NFL season, the Eagles could slide right guard Jason Peters, formerly the team’s left tackle, back to his old spot and elevate Matt Pryor back to the spot where he started January’s playoff game.
The season opener at the Washington Football Team is just more than two weeks away, and Pederson has already been preaching a sense of urgency to his team. But Pederson wants to see what the Eagles have in some of their younger players on the offensive line before making a decision.
Pederson mentioned third-year pros Matt Pryor and Jordan Mailata, plus rookie Jack Driscoll, as players who could get a look at left tackle. And while Peters’ return would be the quickest, easiest fix, Pederson wasn’t ready to commit to that Saturday morning.

“In regard to left tackle, Jason Peters is obviously in the conversation,” Pederson said on a Zoom call. “We do have some young players. … But we’ve got a couple of guys now including Jason Peters that we want to look at over at the left side. J.P. has done an outstanding job, coming in, playing the right guard spot. We’re going to continue to look at him there, as well, but we have some options. We’ve got a couple of days here before, one, roster cuts, but obviously getting into the regular season.”

The Eagles offensive line already suffered one blow in June when three-time Pro Bowl right guard Brandon Brooks suffered a torn Achilles. That prompted the Eagles to bring back Peters, who became a free agent in March, to replace Brooks at right guard.

Dillard, a 2019 first-round pick, was set to ascend to the starting lineup after playing 346 offensive snaps and starting four games (three at left tackle) last season. The Eagles had high hopes for Dillard, but his injury will delay his transition to a full-time starter for another year.
