It was supposed to be a routine animal rescue mission for Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, and her volunteer Arturo Flores. The two were in the area assisting with a chicken rescue when a distressing message came through—a tiny dog had reportedly been seen tied to the back of a trailer home, alone and forgotten.
The tip came from Kris Kelly of The Kris Kelly Foundation, who had discovered the pup and feared for his wellbeing. Without hesitation, Suzette and Arturo wrapped up the chicken rescue and rushed to the trailer—only to find the dog was no longer visible.
But they refused to give up.
“He wasn’t outside, so we knocked on the trailer door. We weren’t leaving without knowing what happened to him,” Suzette later shared.

Moments later, a man answered the door. When asked about the dog, he casually admitted the pup belonged to him—but shockingly, he had no hesitation in handing the dog over.
“He just said, ‘Do you want him?’” Suzette recounted. “Within minutes, this tiny dog was in my arms.”
Now named Remi, the pup was trembling from fear but quickly relaxed once he realized he was safe. Weighing just around five pounds, Remi was taken to Camino Pet Hospital, where he was diagnosed with non-contagious mange—an uncomfortable but treatable condition.

Despite his ordeal, Remi responded with nothing but gentleness and gratitude.
“He’s just so sweet. Even after all he’s been through, he trusted us right away,” Suzette said.
Thanks to the quick coordination between rescue organizations, Remi was taken in by The Forgotten Dog Foundation, where he’s now being fostered in a loving home. While he continues to heal emotionally and physically, his future looks hopeful.
Remi’s rescuers are now focused on finding him a forever family—one that will give him all the love he’s been missing.
“This baby is finally safe,” Suzette wrote. “And oh my goodness, he really is the sweetest.”
