DQ. Max Starks Elevated to Commentator Role on Steelers Audio Network Broadcast Team

The Pittsburgh Steelers are ushering in a new era of game-day coverage as they officially announced former offensive tackle Max Starks has been promoted to a full-time commentator role on the Steelers Audio Network broadcast team.

Starks, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the franchise, has been a familiar voice to fans over the past few seasons, appearing periodically on broadcasts and studio shows. His promotion marks a significant expansion of his presence, placing him in the booth alongside play-by-play veteran Bill Hillgrove and fellow Steelers legend Craig Wolfley.

Known for his deep understanding of the game and his ability to break down complex plays in an engaging and accessible way, Starks is expected to bring a unique blend of expertise and personality to the broadcasts. The team believes his firsthand experience in the trenches will add a valuable layer of insight for fans tuning in each week.

“Max has been a part of the Steelers family both on and off the field,” said Mike Marchinsky, Executive Producer of the Steelers Radio Network. “His football IQ, charisma, and passion for the game make him a natural fit for this expanded role.”

Starks, who played 10 seasons in Pittsburgh, says he’s thrilled for the opportunity. “It’s an honor to continue representing this organization and connecting with Steelers Nation in a new way. I can’t wait to share the highs and lows of the season with our incredible fans.”

The move is part of a broader effort by the Steelers to modernize and energize their media offerings, bringing in familiar faces with insider knowledge to enhance fan engagement.

Steelers Nation can catch Starks’ debut as full-time commentator when the team kicks off its preseason coverage next month.
