It didn’t take long for the Eagles’ celebration to spill into the streets of Philadelphia on Sunday after they defeated the Commanders 55-23 in the NFC championship game.

Eagles fans packed Broad Street and the surrounding area, with some even climbing greased poles, after watching their team secure a spot in Super Bowl 2025 on Sunday.

In a video posted to X by the city’s CBS affiliate, a fan climbed a street pole on Broad Street, reached the sign and was perched parallel to the traffic light — pumping his fist as the crowd roared around him.

Another photo shared by the Philadelphia Inquirer captured a fan climbing a pole at the corner of Cottman Avenue and Frankford Avenue, while a fan wearing an eagle costume sat on top of someone’s shoulder within a cluster of people.

It all depicts a similar scenario to what unfolded two years ago when Philadelphia made their run to the Super Bowl and in 2018 — when the Eagles clinched the first title in franchise history.

This time, they reached the ultimate game of the NFL season behind running back Saquon Barkley’s 118 yards and three rushing touchdowns, while quarterback Jalen Hurts added 246 passing yards, a touchdown through the air and three on the ground.

Philadelphia led by 12 at halftime and then eventually turned the game into a blowout during the fourth quarter, when Hurts, Barkley and Will Shipley each collected rushing touchdowns.

By that point, the celebration had already begun inside Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles had already assured that fans will have a chance to travel to New Orleans in two weeks where they will face the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs — who beat the Bills 32-29 — in a rematch of Super Bowl 2023.

And then, when all of the seconds had wound down, the celebration carried on throughout the night in the street.
