The Dallas Cowboys have a new buzz around the organization after the promotion of former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to the head coach role. However, Schottenheimer’s success in his first go as a head coach will come down to the production he gets from his star players.
Unfortunately, one of those star players, pass rusher Micah Parsons, is currently in a standoff with the organization over a contractual dispute, and he’s making it clear to the Cowboys and owner/ general manager Jerry Jones that he’s seen the deals top of the line pass rushers are getting around the league, and does not intend on taking a pay cut.

“We wanted to do the contract last year. They’re just kind of like, ‘We want to do Dak [Prescott] and CeeDee [Lamb].’ … You would think, all right, [the Cowboys would] get it done early. There are some guys that are about ready to get re-paid, like Myles [Garrett], and Maxx [Crosby] has gone.
“So you’d think, let’s get ahead of that. … Even now, you’ve got T.J. [Watt] and Maxx and all these other guys who are getting paid, and you can’t want us to take less because you just decided to wait,” Parson said, per Underdog NFL.Fans reacted to Parsons’ words on social media.“Unless nothing is signed, he may save himself during the long haul so he can make money elsewhere, lest they have a magical playoff run. If not he is a goner,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Can’t wait for the front office to be an actual competent office & not the [expletive] show the jone’s created with all their [expletive] excuses on why they can never do the things the other successful FO are doing to make their team better,” one fan added.
“Everyone wants the cowboys to pay top dollar and pay everybody. It doesn’t work like that,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Jones responds to the strong statement.
