The Eagles played very well for most of the game, they took a 34-0 lead after 3 quarters with Hurts passing the ball to his teammates to score touchdowns (equivalent to 6 points), while kicker Jake Elliott made 6 accurate kicks for extra points. Mahomes had a subpar game, only putting the Chiefs ahead for the first time with a touchdown pass late in the third quarter.

Elliott continued to score 6 more points in the fourth quarter, putting the Eagles up 40-6. Mahomes helped the Chiefs close the gap to 22-40 with 2 touchdowns, but there were less than 2 minutes left in the game and it was too late to tie the score. This was the first Super Bowl title in Philadelphia Eagles history, and brought the Most Valuable Player award to Jalen Hurts, who in 2022 played for the Eagles in the Super Bowl but lost to the Chiefs by a narrow 35-38 margin.

This Super Bowl was attended by many famous people, including US President Donald Trump. Rapper Kendrick Lamar performed at halftime and was joined by Serena Williams, while Lionel Messi, Rodri, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba also attended. Taylor Swift came to cheer as a Chiefs fan, as she is dating one of the team’s stars, Travis Kelce.
