The Jets general manager has used the waiver wire to add former Eagles talent. The Jets claimed cornerback Alex Brown off waivers on Monday, the team announced.

Eagles’ Johnathan Cyprien hadn’t played football in 367 days; here’s his story of getting back to the field in Philadelphia

Veteran safety Johnathan Cyprien signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. The defensive back has a lot to prove after two injury-plagued seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
The cornerback was wafted by the Eagles on Sunday to make room for linebacker Asantay Brown. Brown spent a week in Eagles training camp before he was cut loose.
Douglas joined the Jets’ front office before the cornerback was added to the Eagles’ roster. However, Douglas still knows how the Eagles evaluate defensive backs and clearly liked Brown’s profile.
It’s likely that the Eagles front office — including Douglas — scouted Brown during the draft process this offseason.
The undrafted rookie from South Carolina State signed with the San Francisco 49ers in May. He spent the offseason program in the Bay Area before being wafted.
The Eagles claimed Brown off waivers after cornerback Cre’Von LeBlanc suffered a foot injury during the first week of training camp.

Brown will join former Eagles teammate, safety Godwin Igwebuike, in the Jets’ locker room. The Jets claimed Igwebuike off waivers on Sunday.
The second-year player spent the offseason program in Philadelphia after he was claimed off waivers from San Francisco. Igwebuike spent the first two weeks of training camp competing for a backup safety spot with the Eagles.
