In a league full of elite quarterbacks, everyone’s always debating who’s No. 1. But if you ask Patrick Mahomes, he couldn’t care less.
Speaking on the Kay Adams Show, Mahomes made it clear:
“There are a lot of great quarterbacks in this league, and they can rank me where they rank me. But at the end of the day, I’m trying to win Super Bowls, and I don’t care where I’m at on that list — no offense.”
That’s the mindset of a true leader — someone who’s not looking for approval from media panels or offseason rankings. Mahomes isn’t in it for the hype. He’s in it for the legacy.
And make no mistake: being a quarterback isn’t just about throwing touchdowns. As Mahomes put it, it’s the toughest job in sports, not just because of what happens on the field, but because of everything that comes with being the face of a franchise.
💬 “You’re judged constantly — whether you’re on the top of the list, or left off completely. That comes with the territory.”
Still, Mahomes keeps his eyes on the prize: not being the best on paper, but being the best when it counts — in February, with confetti falling, and a Lombardi Trophy in hand.
And with that kind of attitude? Don’t be surprised if there’s more rings coming to Kansas City soon.
