A Life Saved from the Sky: Michigan Police Helicopter Finds Missing 83-Year-Old with Dementia
An 83-year-old man with dementia is safe today thanks to the sharp eyes of a Michigan State Police helicopter pilot.

The man had wandered away from his home and was reported missing for several hours. As search teams scoured the area, the police helicopter spotted movement in a dense swamp. It turned out to be the missing senior — cold, disoriented, but alive.

Rescue crews quickly moved in to pull him from the mud and transport him to a nearby hospital. Officials say he is expected to recover fully.
Michigan State Police credited teamwork between ground units and aerial support for the life-saving discovery.

“Sometimes, it takes eyes from above to see what we can’t on the ground,” said one officer at the scene.
