Fox News reported that Henry Yau, Director of Public Relations at the Children’s Museum of Houston, USA, and his wife stayed at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, during a weekend trip.

During his stay, Yau took a photo of a suspected ghost.

“Oh my god,” Henry Yau wrote in the caption of the photo posted on Facebook. “I think I took a photo of a ghost at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.”

Yau said he wanted to get a full portrait of the staircase in the hotel’s lobby but didn’t want any people to appear in it. So he lingered in the hallway until there were no more people in it before taking the photo.

He said that night, after taking the photo, he went back to bed and suddenly felt unusually uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep. The next morning, he looked at the photo and was extremely surprised to see a shadowy figure appear at the top of the stairs in the photo he took last night. Yau then posted his photo on Facebook.

According to Fox News, opened in 1909, the legendary Stanley Hotel has long been famous for its hauntings. The hotel also inspired Stephen King, the famous American horror writer, to write The Shining after spending a night at the Stanley Hotel with his wife in September 1974.

The novel was later adapted into a popular 1980 film.

“Recently, paranormal events that occurred in the Stanley’s past have been investigated,” the hotel said. “The hotel is becoming known to paranormal investigators as one of the most haunted places in the United States,” the hotel’s website says.
