Recently, GottabeMobile sent an iPhone 6s Plus to a sports photographer to test the camera’s photography capabilities during a top NFL football game in the US. Andrew Weber was the one who received this phone to experience, of course he had to leave his DSLR camera and powerful lens at home and only went to the field with this iPhone 6s Plus.

“When taking photos for NFL games, I usually use a Canon 1DX with a 400mm F2.8 lens with a total value of up to 12,000 USD”, Weber said. “This photo shoot seems to be a little different, as I don’t have to carry any heavy equipment, but only bring the iPhone 6s Plus to shoot”.
As soon as he arrived at Ford Field, Weber took a photo of the outside scene to evaluate the dynamic range of the iPhone 6s Plus camera.

After 3 hours of use, Weber assessed that the original iPhone photography application was easy to use but lacked many important features, he could not control the shutter speed or ISO. Therefore, Weber decided to use the Camera application to be able to fine-tune the parameters more.
Thanks to this application, he could reduce the shutter speed and compose “panning” photos. In addition, thanks to the anti-shake system inside the camera, the iPhone 6s Plus helped him produce photos with good sharpness.

“One drawback that Apple has overcome on the iPhone 6s Plus is the delay, before when pressing the shutter button, the device needed a little time to process and “capture the image”, but now with this new version, users can capture the moment faster”, Weber commented.
