son.The news about the 2028 US presidential candidate nominated by the Democratic Party has many people worried.

A rumor circulating on social media claims that the Democratic Party is considering candidates for the 2028 US presidential election, including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

This sensational information is said to have originated from a single-user account named “WALZ FOR PRESIDENT 2028” (@Walz4Pres) on the social media platform X. Notably, this account has a blue tick.

On June 26, this account posted a composite photo of Mr. Tim Walz and Mr. Zohran Mamdani, with the caption: “What do people think of this couple?”.

The post quickly attracted nearly 2 million views and more than 5,000 likes, leading many social media users to believe that this was a serious suggestion from the Democratic Party for the 2028 presidential election.

Although the post was originally intended to poll the online community, some media figures turned it into “hot news”. Among them was Mr. Eric Daugherty, deputy news director of Florida’s Voice – a newspaper supported by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Specifically, Mr. Eric wrote on the social network X: “The Democratic Party has begun to propose Mr. Tim Walz to run for President of the United States and Mr. Zohran Mamdani to be Vice President in 2028”.

After Eric’s post, this information continued to spread strongly on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and X, causing the rumor to spread rapidly.

However, the information verification site Snopes, through the verification process, confirmed that the information on the post was only hypothetical and could not happen.

In fact, Mr. Zohran Mamdani is not constitutionally qualified to run for president or vice president of the United States, because he was born in Uganda. The US Constitution clearly states that only citizens born in the United States can hold these positions.
