son.Protests in the US: Hottest nationwide ever, with 30,000 people in Los Angeles.

Tens of thousands of people in nearly 2,000 locations across the United States took to the streets to participate in protests called “No Kings” over the weekend, protesting the administration of US President Donald Trump and his policies, according to CNN. The epicenter of the protests in the US was in Los Angeles (California), where protesters blocked highways, burned cars and clashed with police.

On June 15, the Los Angeles Police Department said it had arrested 38 people during protests against the Trump administration in downtown Los Angeles.

Of these, 35 were arrested for violating curfew, one for obstructing law enforcement. Three police officers were injured in the incidents.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass confirmed on the same day that there were injuries from both sides.

“Police were injured and so were protesters,” Bass said.

The wave of protests in Los Angeles continues, with about 30,000 people taking to the streets at at least 15 different locations across the city.

From June 7 to June 15, Los Angeles reported 561 arrests related to protest activities, many of which were against raids by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). At least 12 police officers were injured during this time.

In response to this situation, US President Donald Trump on June 15 announced that the deployment of the National Guard in California was a factor preventing the situation from getting out of control.

“If the National Guard wasn’t ready, they [protesters] would have torn Los Angeles apart,” Mr. Trump said.

In addition, protests also took place in the states of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, … Most of the protests were peaceful, according to WCVB.

“We didn’t come here to fight,” said a protester in South Carolina.

However, some serious incidents occurred, such as a car plowing into a crowd in Virginia.

According to WCVB, the crowd of protesters also expressed dissatisfaction when Mr. Trump held a grand military parade in Washington D.C. to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Army.

Many criticized the event as ostentatious and expensive, with an estimated cost of up to 100 million USD.
