As the latest Kansas City Chiefs season approaches, one of the most exciting aspects of it is seeing old players back.
As the new Kansas City Chiefs season approaches, one of the most exciting aspects of it is getting ready to see players back on the field who were out with an injury last season. It feels great to see the strength of the human body and how injured NFL players can come back better and stronger than ever. What an inspirational feeling.
Last season, Charles Omenihu was injured and out for a chunk of the season, which was disconcerting to Chiefs followers. Seeing him back during the season was great, and he had a solid run in the games in which he participated, playing in six regular season games, notching six tackles and one sack. In the playoffs, he clocked nine tackles and a sack.
Now, Omenihu is making it clear that he’s not only back but stronger than ever. His message should make any Chiefs competitors shake in their boots.

Omenihu is back in Kansas City on a one-year deal, and he’s surly hoping to get to the big game again this season. There’s no denying that he has the strength to do so.
On Monday, June 30, Omenihu shared a video on his X account of him doing a workout and pulling off an incredible a 50-inch box jump. “Seated 33in hurdle jump to a 50in box jump. Yeah I’m back,” the post states.
“You’re going to be landing on quarterbacks soon bro,” one commenter stated. “Almost feel sorry for those offenses. Beautiful,” another said.
Omenihu is certainly back and better than ever, and that should frighten the Chiefs’ opponents this season. Having a strong and healthy pass-rusher is invaluable in the NFL, and it will give the Chiefs a major boost in 2025.
In a Tuesday, July 1, feature about Omenihu, Leigh Oleszczak of Arrowhead Addict notes, “Omenihu was at his best during the 2023 season, notching seven sacks in the regular season and adding another one in the playoffs before he was injured. It was a blow to the defense not to have him out there but fortunately, the Chiefs persevered and still won the whole dang thing.”
He also talks up the importance of having Omenihu back and strong. “Now that Omenihu is fully healthy, the hope is that the Chiefs defense can get back to being that fierce unit once again,” Oleszczak notes. “Pairing him with Chris Jones and George Karlaftis is simply not fair for the rest of the league.”
