Sharing with local media, Marshall said he noticed that after the surgery, his 8-year-old son became reserved when meeting other people. He also realized the reason was the long scar on the boy’s head.
To cheer him up and help him regain his confidence, he shaved his head and got a tattoo of a scar just like his son’s.

“I did it so that when people stared at Gabriel, they would stare at me too,” he said.
Marshall also took a photo of the father and son with the same haircut and submitted it to the “Best Bald Dad” contest organized by an American children’s cancer support foundation. The photo received more than 5,000 likes and won the top prize in the contest.

According to CTVNews on June 22, the touching photo and story of Marshall and his father were quickly supported and shared by netizens.
Hundreds of comments expressed emotion and admiration for the father and son’s strength and affection.
